When hiring your first graphic designer, it’s hard to find someone that will merge a sense of quality and affordability at the same time.
When you haven’t paid for such services before it’s hard to justify an amount on something you don’t understand. With sites like Fiverr, Wix and Upwork; it’s hard not to opt for this solution when the work seemingly appears at a decent enough quality and is affordable. Not everyone is an expert within a creative field. It can be hard to know what measures appropriately as quality and what will meet and fulfil its purpose.
When developing new business, you benefit from taking action. It’s hard to try and make calculated decisions on absolutely everything. From a business perspective, if we exclusively focused on only making decisions we were 100% entirely informed by, we’d never be able to get things off the ground.
Naturally, when everyone can have an extremely varied opinion on a subject, it’s hard to dissect and filter through the information and know what to trust. If we tried to consult everyone on planet earth, all the info would overwhelm us and refrain us from moving.
If you’re going to spend money at all, why not spend money on a solution that’s going to last?
Sites like Fiverr, Wix and Upwork don’t necessarily provide is a focus on your needs and the needs of your project. Their focal point is to help keep the economy afloat. Which there is nothing wrong. A focus on profit within a business context is obviously essential; otherwise, there is no business, to begin with.
Contrastingly if you’re going to spend money at all, why not spend money on a solution that’s going to last? Why not invest your time and money into something that will hold up and have the durability and timeless wear your project actually needs?
This is where a graphic designer and illustrator comes in. Comparatively, I don’t offer surface-level visual representations that meet the bare minimum of the requirements of your project. I take the time to appropriately develop something that not only is right for your target audience but is also technically sound with fundamental design principles that ensure suitability and functionality for your project.
It can be like going to a cheap restaurant and expecting outlandish quality and service. Sure a more inexpensive restaurant does serve a particular demographic, and it definitely has a need, time and place in the world. But naturally, you’re only going to get back as much as your willing to put in when it comes to your investment.
....ensure something creative and intangible becomes something that directly meets the needs requirements of your project.
When working on any project, I have processes in place to ensure something creative and intangible becomes something that directly meets the needs requirements of your project.
Additionally, the approach I take is one of collaboration.
Unfortunately, a lot of creatives can have an “us and them” attitude. I very much have a focus and emphasis on teamwork and prioritise a healthy working relationship to achieve results that each party is satisfied with.
If you’re new to the process or have some skin in the game or anything in between; by all means, please get in touch. I pride myself on facilitating an environment and working relationship that’s professional and meets the crucial needs and requirements of your project.
